Release 7.10

Nov 11, 2010                    For a printable version of Release 7.10 highlights select this pdf.

z/OS Compatibility - Support user data sets on EAV volumes

eventACTION now fully supports EAS-eligible data sets on EAV volumes. Support for putting the eventACTION database on EAV is planned for a future release.

z/OS Compatibility - Support DFSMSdfp PDSE/PDS empty command

z/OS V1R12 introduced the ability to empty a PDS or PDSE using the IDCAMS command:

    DELETE data.set.name(*)

eventACTION already tracked these changes properly, but the change is now shown with a special pseudo member name ".EMPTY".

z/OS Compatibility - Support parallel subsystem initialization

z/OS V1R12 introduced the ability for subsystem initialization routines to run in parallel. eventACTION supports this, but please review the related information in the eventACTION Planning and Installation Guide for considerations regarding other ISV products.

z/OS Compatibility - Support z/OS 1.12 basic access method changes

Effective with z/OS 1.12, basic access methods (BSAM, QSAM and BPAM) support the use of:

  • XIOT instead of TIOT;

  • DSAB above the 16MB line; and

  • UCB nocapture.

eventACTION 7.10 fully supports files allocated with any of these new attributes.

Change Requests

A new option has been added for "Options to be used at OID Level only". You can specify the hour range when Force will be allowed. The hour range can overlap to the next day, e.g., 20-06. This new option is on panel 4 of 4.
